Casa del Parco-Geopark, Carisolo

The Casa del Parco – Geopark of Carisolo is the visitors center of the Natural Park Adamello-Presanella and of the Brenta Dolomites. The opening of the center was co-funded by the European Rural Development Fund (ERDF) of the Trento province during its 2007/2013 program.

Here visitors can discover the geodiversity of the Adamello-Presanella mountains and the Brenta Dolomites through videos, models, dioramas, interactive experiments and multimedia stations with virtual tours. The exhibition includes the reproduction of a karstic cave with realistic sounds and a number of other experimental activities: aerial views, trouts and chars swimming in aquariums and recreating life in rivers and lakes, the formation of the Marmitte dei Giganti (local rock formations shaped like small and deep lakes), a selection of mineral and fossils which can be observed under a lens and a joystick to take a virtual flight over the Park’s hills and mountaintops. In 2019 the Park was confirmed as an UNESCO Global Geopark, part of the Global Geoparks Network, for the next 4 years.
