The success of the “Apulum Agraria” Fair in Alba
The first days of autumn marked an important day for Together for Cohesion: Let’s rEUnite! project. The Apulum Agraria Fair that took place in Alba, Romania in 20-22 September is an event with a long tradition in bringing together people involved in agriculture and promoting the economy in Alba County. This time however the 28th version of the event had a different significance as it marked the inauguration of the Together for Cohesion project and of the European Cohesion Calendar.
Considering that the project is dedicated to making citizens and stakeholders aware of the benefits of the EU Cohesion Policy and Funds, the event came to showcase the importance of bringing together citizens and interested stakeholders who can exchange expertise and success stories with each other.
Indeed, this year’s Apulum Agraria Fair managed to bring together local farmers, producers, representatives of professional associations, local stakeholders and policy makers who had a chance to interact with each other, discover some of the local products of Alba and discuss the benefits of cohesion policy in the development of their local economy.
This was the first of the 15 events on the European Cohesion Calendar agenda, which will take place between September 2019 and March 2020 and seek to spread the message of cohesion to the world. The success of this event is certainly a hopeful indication about what is coming in the future.
